Research Core

The specific aims of the Research core are:

To provide expertise to affiliated scientists in the development of applied community-based research projects to explore cultural, behavioral, physiological and economic factors associated with nutritional health disparities among Latinos.
To provide expertise in quantitative methods and biostatistics.
To provide expertise in qualitative and ethnographic methods.
To develop and disseminate innovative research methods to explore Latino nutritional health disparities.
To foster the development of creative, culturally competent and effective interventions to reduce Latino health disparities.
To strengthen the collaborative relationship uniting health disparities researchers at the University of Connecticut, Hispanic Health Council, and Hartford Hospital.
To build a state, national, and international coalitions of health disparities researchers focused on Latino health and nutrition issues.
