Renee D. Coleman-Mitchell
Renee Coleman-Mitchell is Section Chief for the Health Education, Management and Surveillance Section within the Public Health Initiative Branch at the Department of Public Health (DPH). In her role as Section Chief, she is directly responsible for the oversight and management of the following programs: Asthma, Food Stamp Nutrition, Injury Prevention, Obesity, Tobacco Use and Prevention Control and Women, Infant and Children (WIC). Ms. Coleman-Mitchell has 19 years of Public Health experience serving in various positions such as Deputy Director of Health for the City of Hartford, Site Director for the Meriden Community Health Center, and previously as Division Director at DPH. She serves as one of the Commissioners on the City of Hartford’s Permanent Commission on the Status of Hartford Women, and was recently elected as a Board Member at large for the CT Public Health Association. She has her Bachelor’s Degree from Connecticut College and her Master’s in Public Health from Yale School of Public Health.
