Judith Fifield, PHD
Dr. Fifield is an associate professor and Director of Research in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. Her research interests focus on factors that influence changes over time in social and physical functioning in chronic disease. She is currently the PI on a pediatric asthma quality improvement intervention funded by AHRQ. This study is focused on improving outcomes for high-risk children by developing peer-driven, best-practice clinical care and adding family-focused, supportive education. She is also a Co-Investigator on three other NIH and Foundation sponsored studies focused on adults with chronic fibromyalgia or rheumatoid arthritis. Dr. Fifield's interest in adults with chronic disease is focused on both short and long term outcomes associated with paid work stress and the long term outcomes associated with a history of major affective disorder.
