Dr. Rafael Perez-Escamilla has been appointed for a two-year term by the National Academies to the Institute of Medicine (IOM)/National Research Council (NRC) Committee. This committee is charged with reexamining the current IOM Pregnancy Weight Gain Guidelines. Rafael expects that this experience will help to enhance even more the contributions that CEHDL is already making in the area of minority maternal and child health.

Please join us in congratulating Rafael on his appointment to this prestigious national committee.
