Jyoti Chhabra, Ph.D.

Jyoti Chhabra, Ph.D., received her doctorate in Nutrition from The Pennsylvania State University in 1998. She is currently a Senior Scientist/Project Manager in the Research Program at Hartford Hospital. Her research interests are in combining her expertise in the fields of Psychology of Eating Behavior in relation to Obesity and Diabetes, Nutrition, Health related Behavioral risk factors, and Public Health. Currently she is the Hartford Hospital (HH) lead investigator/Co-PI collaborating with The NIH Connecticut Center for Eliminating Health Disparities among Latinos (CEHDL) on the Longitudinal Diabetes Peer Counseling Trial. She mentors students from various clinical departments and leads the CEHDL’s Health Disparities Internship program at HH. In addition, her role includes 1) methodological/scientific review of protocols seeking research approval at HH and 2) providing ongoing consultation on scholarly activities such as experimental protocol, tool design, data collection strategies, proposal writing, data analysis and interpretation, and manuscript writing to all medical staff.
