Danielle Barry is an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine, Calhoun Cardiology Center, at the University of Connecticut Health Center. Her research interests include prevention and treatment of obesity and substance use disorders using contingency management. Dr. Barry has received funding from the Ethel Donaghue Center for Translating Research into Practice and Policy to conduct a pilot study of contingency management to promote weight loss in low income adults. She has authored several publications on topics including gender differences in associations between obesity and psychiatric disorders, addictions, and life stressors and effects of ethnicity on risk factors and treatment outcomes among clients receiving contingency management for substance use disorders. Dr. Barry earned a B.A. from Yale University in 1993, an M.A. from the New School for Social Research in 1998, and a Ph.D. from Rutgers University in 2004. She completed a fellowship in clinical neuropsychology at Geisinger Medical Center and a postdoctoral research fellowship in Psychiatry at UCHC. She is a licensed clinical psychologist in the State of Connecticut.
